Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
The opening scripture opens our eyes to the offer the devil makes to everyone on earth. It is usually subtle because, of course, the devil won’t directly tell you it’s your soul he is after. He usually offers what is less in value but portrays it to be so huge an offer that many can’t resist.
In Genesis 3, which narrates how the fall of man happened, we see that the devil made an offer. He presented the desire to be like God to them in such a way that it looked appealing. Yes, they were already in the likeness and image of God but over time, through God’s guidance to Adam, they would have still known good and evil but not be sinners. God’s original intent, therefore, was halted, and they missed out on their original destiny just because of something as little and insignificant as a fruit. The devil offers what is so little compared to God’s plans for us and makes it look important that once we fall for it, we lose a much greater reward.
Looking at the second Adam, Jesus was confronted by the devil in the wilderness and was also offered something. Matthew 4:8-9 Again, the devil took him up into an exceeding high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And said unto him, All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me. So here, the devil offered the kingdoms of the world and its glory to Jesus only if He would worship him. It looked harmless and simple – just bow down- but what that little bowing could do to Jesus’ destiny was so costly. Indeed, the kingdoms of the world were for Adam but he handed it to the devil through disobedience and Jesus was coming to take it for us. If Jesus had failed, we would have been eternally damned and have no room for salvation.
All through the Bible we see different characters who missed out on a great destiny because of an exchange I call a grand exchange because its cost is so huge. First, we see Esau selling his birthright for food: Genesis 25:31-33. He missed out on this opportunity to be a part of the patriarchs – God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would have been God of Abraham, Isaac, and Esau. Samson lost out on his destiny because of his love for the wrong woman Delilah: Judges 16. Joseph on the other hand didn’t fall prey to the advances of Potiphar’s wife so he became the leader God had shown him he would be. Illicit sex for a few minutes would have cost him that great future. Potiphar’s wife made Joseph an offer that would disqualify him in the future: Genesis 39:7-10
Two major tools the devil is using in our days to deny people their God-ordained destinies are sex and money.
This explains why it is way easier for an unbeliever to have wealth than for a believer to have access to wealth. You don’t need to be a Christian to have money because the devil is always making offers. He makes it look like those who don’t serve God have money so what’s the need for God and the church. He provides a temporary lie, so he eventually gets your soul destroyed. The money we have on earth won’t matter in eternity. It would only matter if what we did with the money advanced God’s Kingdom. When I hear people casually say they want to be Kingdom financiers, I wonder if they understand what it means. You would have to fight to do that. It means your money won’t be for you. Whatever God asks you to do is what you use that money for, and you think the devil would make it easy for you to depopulate hell and advance God’s kingdom? The average Christian is not making at least a million dollars a year, but they are arrogant and start thinking they no longer need church once they make a little money.
The church is still arguing over whether we should pay tithe. Giving is still a controversial issue in the church while unbelievers are investing in tv shows, cartoons, and social media to propagate their philosophies. Who are the people to support Christian outreaches, crusades, and materials, if we the Christians are still arguing about basic giving? We are not even at sacrificial giving yet. Therefore, the church is making little impact.
Kingdom wealth is not acquired, it is entrusted. God must trust you to give you wealth that would advance His Kingdom. Christians are not the only people giving so why is there so much controversy? The devil knows what it can do. Even occultists give. When people want to destroy another person through witchcraft, they give an offering. No one goes to a fetish priest without giving something so why is it that there’s an argument over the church’s giving? There’s no one who has a significant amount of wealth who hasn’t made a sacrifice.
Finally, there are two ways to attain wealth on this physical earth. You make your choice.
The Secret Place OR The Secret Cult.
Noone succeeds financially without spiritual power. You decide which power you use: the devil’s or God’s.
