In Mark 9:22-23, I see a very interesting dialogue between Jesus and a man who comes to Him to seek assistance. Pleading that the Christ heals his demon-possessed son.
Now, Jesus gives a startling response to the man when he says, ” …but IF THOU canst do anything…. “
Jesus responds rather by telling him, ” if THOU canst believe; all things are possible to them that believe. “
Interesting, isn’t it? Brother Jesus turns everything on the man. It’s almost a funny response.
He hinges the power of the working of miracles wholly on the BELIEF of the man and not on what He; Jesus can do.
It’s like a student telling a teacher, ” O Sir, you know, if only YOU decide to mark everything in my work correct, I’ll do well. “
And the teacher responds by saying, ” No, rather if only YOU can answer all the questions correctly, you will excel. It all depends on you. “
This is the common problem we find in the church today- the problem of religion. A lot of people seem to reason that, ” O if only God WANTS to heal me, He’ll heal me. Oh well, I’m just waiting on God to move. “
Well, so often than not, God is really just waiting on us to rather move our faith and get things to move towards us.
The common pitfall is that in our thinking, we reason that God is in the spirit realm and we are in the natural, and He has the keys to all spiritual things when, however, this picture truly is quite obscured. Yes, God indeed has access to all spiritual things. But, so do we; as sons and daughters of God. We also have access to every spiritual thing.
Proverbs 18:20-21 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
2 Peter 1:3 According as His divine power has given us all things that pertain to LIFE and GODLINESS ....
The things that in the past belonged to only God have now been given to us for us to enjoy. And one of those things is the ability to control things in the spirit and see them happen in the physical.
And how that can happen is when we turn on our faith like a switch by believing in the word of God.
Hallelujah. It’s really never a question of what God can do. That is good thinking, in fact, that is what should motivate your belief in Him. But it is entirely your faith that is a factor when it comes to receiving anything from God.
Throughout Scripture, God has made it clear that when we believe in Him we WILL see HIS Glory.
The law of faith is as constant as the law of gravity and even more reliable. As with gravity, there are laws of aerodynamics for instance that when initiated can cause the law of gravity to be usurped. But no. The law of faith in God is more constant than this. It would only be a problem if God ever changed his mind concerning what His will is for man.
In 3 John 2, it says… “ I WISH ABOVE ALL THINGS …. that you will PROSPER (SUCCEED) ….“
So you see? You have no reason to doubt. Because it is not just God’s will; but God’s number one will for your life. That you see success in everything you do. God wants you to succeed, and He made it very easy for that to happen, that you just believe in Him. Believe in His word.
And O nothing can stand in the way of that. Not a thing created, uncreated, living or dead can come between that. And may I dare say, that not even God can!
