Why do bad things happen to good people?

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Scripturally, apart from God, there are NO good people.

Mark 10:18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

There is a great revelation in this scripture. Jesus wanted the man to see and to know that He was God that came down and became flesh [John 1].

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Some people may live more right than others, but that doesn’t mean they are good people. And when you compare even the most righteous human being in himself with Jesus Christ, he is not worthy to be compared with Jesus Christ.

Our righteousness does not stem from what we do or do not do.

-Didi K. Hodasi

Our righteousness is as filthy rags [Isaiah 64:6]. In the original Hebrew, it doesn’t read ” filthy rags “, it reads menstrual cloths. How many of you like to handle menstrual cloths? All of us are guilty of the bad things that happen to us. Why? Because we all have sinned, and the wages of sin is death [Romans 6:23]. This is why you and I need GRACE. Grace has nothing to do with us but has everything to do with Jesus Christ. Receive Jesus Christ into your life, and receive grace.

And for the believer, because he or she has received Jesus into his or her life; He or she now has the righteousness of Jesus Christ. His or her righteousness is not based on what he or she did or do, but what Jesus Christ did.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

So the question, ” Why do bad things happen to good people? ” is an invalid question – wrong question. We all deserve the bad things that happen to us. In ourselves, we are all bad.

Some may live right more than others, but even the most righteous human being in himself is not worthy to be compared with Jesus Christ.
